R’Bonney is the ninth and, so far, the last woman from the United States to win the Miss Universe crown. She is the oldest Miss Universe to obtain the crown, achieving it at 28 years, 9 months, and 25 days. Originally from Houston, Texas, where she was born in 1994, she studied for a bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design with a specialty in Fibers at the University of North Texas.

As a model and fashion designer, she creates eco-friendly clothing for her own brand, “R’Bonney Nola,” and serves as a sewing instructor for the non-profit organization Magpies and Peacocks. R’Bonney is deeply committed to environmental issues and advocates against domestic violence.

The eighth woman from the United States to hold the Miss Universe crown, Olivia was born in Cranston, Rhode Island, in 1992. She participated in various orchestras and philharmonics, playing the cello, including the Rhode Island Philharmonic Youth Orchestra. She studied at Boston University but did not graduate.

A model, actress, presenter, influencer, and businesswoman, Olivia has represented various brands such as L’Oréal, Kipling, and Uberliss. She was featured in the special swimsuit edition of “Sports Illustrated” in 2018 and appeared on the cover in 2020.

As an actress, she has appeared in seven films and various programs, including reality shows such as “Model Squad” in 2018 and “The Masked Singer” in 2023. Since 2019, she has served as a presenter in the Miss Universe pageants, except in 2021.

In August 2017, Olivia opened the restaurant “Back 40” with her family in North Kingstown, Rhode Island.

She married American football player Christian McCaffrey in 2024 and currently lives in the United States.

She is the seventh woman from the United States and the first of multiracial background to be crowned Miss Universe. She has Chinese, Korean, Native Hawaiian, Portuguese, French, Dutch, and English ancestry. Originally from Pearl City, Hawaii, she was born in 1971. She studied at Chaminade University and earned a postgraduate degree in Communications at the University of Hawai’i at Manoa.

An actress, model, and television host, one of her most recent projects is a regional TV show called Pacific Fusion, which focuses on Asian American lifestyles. She also hosts the show Modern Wahine Hawaii and has served as the secretary of the non-governmental organization BEHawaii.

Since 2006, she has been married to actor and producer Tory Mell, with whom she has two children. They currently live in Hawaii.

The sixth woman from the United States and the first of biracial origin to be crowned Miss Universe. She was born in Redwood City, California, and represented Texas in the 1995 Miss USA pageant, having lived with her grandparents in Texas since she was seven. She studied Education at San Jacinto Junior College.

An actress, singer, and television presenter, Chelsi modeled for several brands including Hawaiian Tropic, Jantzen, and Pontiac. She released her first single Dom Da Da, appeared in the film Playas Ball, and presented various television specials. In 2011, she received the Influential Multiracial Public Figure award.

She was married to fitness trainer Kelly Blair and later moved to Los Angeles.

Chelsi passed away from liver cancer on September 8, 2018, at the age of 45, becoming the sixth Miss Universe to die.

Shawn Weatherly was the fifth American woman to be crowned Miss Universe. Born in San Antonio, Texas, in 1959, she represented South Carolina in the Miss USA 1980 pageant. She studied nursing at Clemson University.

Weatherly pursued a career in modeling and acting, appearing in several television series, including The Dukes of Hazzard (1983), T.J. Hooker (1983), Shaping Up (1984), and Baywatch (1989–2001). She also starred in over 15 films, such as Police Academy 3: Back in Training (1986) and Baywatch: Panic at Malibu Pier (1989).

In 1994, she married Chip Harris, and they have two children, Jackson Thomas and Jessica Lee. The family resides in Waresboro, Georgia.

Sylvia Louise Hitchcock was the fourth woman from the United States to win the Miss Universe title. Born in Haverhill, Massachusetts in 1946, she spent much of her childhood and adolescence in Miami. She represented Alabama at Miss USA while studying art at the University of Alabama.

Known in the pageant world as “The Big Sister,” she often attended Miss Universe events. In 1970, she married William Carson, with whom she had three children: Jonathan, Christianne, and William. She was also the grandmother of seven.

Much of her life was devoted to charitable work, supporting organizations such as the daughters of the American Revolution, the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, and the YMCA. In her free time, she enjoyed painting and gardening.

Sylvia passed away from cancer on August 15, 2015, at the age of 69 in Lake Wales, Florida. She was the third Miss Universe to die.

Originally from Salt Lake City, Utah, where she was born in 1941, Linda Jeanne Bement became the third Miss Universe from the United States.

She worked as a model and in 1962, married Panamanian jockey Carlos Manuel Ycaza, with whom she had two children. They divorced in 1969, and she later remarried Rob Sharp, from whom she also divorced. She was a talented artist, creative craftswoman, excellent cook, and pianist. Throughout her life, she supported disadvantaged groups and was actively involved in saving and protecting animals.

Linda Bement served as a goodwill ambassador, inspiring and mentoring young women, and was a role model to many. She passed away at age 76 in her Salt Lake City home on March 19, 2018. She is survived by her two children, five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She was the fifth Miss Universe to pass away.

Carol Laverne Morris was the second woman from the United States to win the Miss Universe crown. She was born in Omaha, Nebraska in 1936, but later moved to Iowa.

A champion swimmer and lifeguard, she studied education at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, and from a young age, she stood out as an excellent violinist, performing with the Des Moines Symphony Orchestra. She was crowned Miss Iowa 1954 and participated in the Miss America pageant in 1954, but did not reach the semifinals. Two years later, she won the crowns of Miss USA 1956 and Miss Universe 1956 in the same week, representing the state of Iowa.

She pursued a career as a model and actress, starring in several films, including Born to Be Loved in 1959 and Paradise Alley in 1962, as well as various one-off television shows.

In June 1959, she married businessman Edward G. “Buzz” Burke, with whom she had three children. After becoming a widow, she married Joseph Patrick McCann in January 1973, with whom she had one son. She currently resides in Texas.

She holds several records as Miss Universe, being the first woman from the American continent and the first from the United States to win this important beauty crown. She was also the first to be crowned by her predecessor, the first to win the titles of Miss USA 1954 and Miss Universe 1954 in less than 48 hours, the first Miss Universe contestant with university studies at Lander University, and the first to wear the new crown called the “Star of the Universe,” valued at $250,000, which was used from 1954 to 1960.

Originally from Winnsboro, South Carolina, where she was born in 1933, she competed in Miss America in 1953 and placed among the top 10 semifinalists. At the end of her reign as Miss Universe, she married Donald Upton in September 1956, with whom she had two children, and she became a widow in the late 1970s. In 1981, she married Duncan Breckenridge Jr.

She worked for local television station WIS-TV, an NBC affiliate, and developed a career as a model and actress, appearing in various commercials. She dedicated much of her life to restoring fine porcelain, painting watercolors, and has always designed her own wardrobe. She is now 91 years old and currently lives in South Carolina.
