On July 31st, at Atlantis, Paradise Island, Bahamas, 18-year-old Stormi Bree Henley withstood the competition of 50 other beautiful teens and won the title of Miss Teen USA 2009. The Crossville, Tennessee native is a small-town girl now on the verge of realizing her big city dreams.
Henley is an aspiring actress who one day aims to star in action movies. She is also an accomplished singer, with a keen specialization in Country Music and Blues. Henley will be able to fully represent teens across the United States seeing that she has traveled to almost every US state (as well as many countries around the world) while going on tour with her father, who is a professional golfer and caddy. At 9-years-old, she toured the country for 22 straight weeks as her father was competing and has since developed a love of traveling and exploring.
Henley graduated from Cumberland County High School in Crossville in May 2009. During her year as Miss Teen USA, she will attend classes at the New York Film Academy studying acting techniques.
In her spare time, Henley is an avid golfer (she was the 2008-2009 Golf MVP at her school) and motocross enthusiast. She also enjoys working out, traveling, wakeboarding, playing football, and loves to whip up her “killer” Spanish casserole for her family. She is a car aficionado with a love of learning about engines, and hopes to one day have a house with a lot of land to exercise her love of driving.
During her year wearing the crown, Henley hopes to show young women everywhere that, with enough determination and persistence, they can be successful in any field they desire, even if they have small town roots. As she has proven, Henley is proud to be an example to young girls that dreams can be accomplished.
Throughout her reign, Henley will spend her year building relationships with organizations devoted to education and action, such as Best Buddies, D.A.R.E., Girl Talk, Sparrow Clubs and Project Sunshine to name a few. For more information, visit: www.missteenusa.com.
