Fred Nelson is the President/Executive Producer of the People’s Choice Awards, the annual celebration of fan favorites in movies, music and TV. Throughout his seven-year tenure with the People’s Choice brand, he has overseen the global growth of the franchise in partnership with Mark Burnett.
Nelson joined People’s Choice after a decade at Entertainment Weekly as V. P. of Marketing & Promotion, Editorial Development and Digital Media. During that time, Nelson was also Co-Executive Producer for the first two seasons of The World Series of Pop Culture, a television series he created in conjunction with Embassy Row and VH1. In addition, he was chosen as a pop culture expert by the producers of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire’s for their “brain trust” lifeline.
Nelson’s TV appearances include ABC, Bravo, CBS, E!, Fox News, Access Hollywood, Entertainment Tonight and OMG! Insider. Most recently, he appeared as a guest judge on the Food Network’s Cupcake Wars.
Nelson is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and currently resides in New York City.
