Hailing from San Francisco, TRAIN is a multi-platinum selling, American band. Together since 1994, Pat Monahan is the lead singer on vocals, Jimmy Stafford is the band’s guitarist and Scott Underwood is on drums. The band just wrapped up a sold-out headlining tour across the US in support of their current gold album CALIFORNIA 37, which features the hits “50 Ways To Say Goodbye” and “Drive By.” The Grammy-winning band is also known for chart-topping singles “Drop Of Jupiter, “Hey Soul Sister” and more.
The trio started playing as Train in San Francisco at a place called Mad Dog In The Fog. The band jokes that they were paid in beer until they became aware of how many pints they could put away.
The trio met through other people they originally started the band with, discovering that their chemistry really worked, and therefore deciding they would stick together for the long haul. The band claims that before they were Train, they were just kids that didn't have any other skills and that sometimes not having a backup plan is best.
